Each week a Target Direct “wrap” is printed with various ads on it to go around printed inserts that are then distributed with newspapers and other printed mailers. I was responsible for the creation of this wrap each week which included creating ads for clients that choose to print on this wrap, ensuring any camera-ready artwork fit the specifications for the wrap, and occasionally creating ads that promote Target Direct’s services directly.

Other internal marketing collateral I was responsible for designing and preparing for print included company business cards,  the company holiday card, help wanted ads & posters, as well as these Target Direct wrap ads.

I enjoyed the flexibility that comes with creating these ads and seeing what images will spark a bit a bit of creativity or set off an idea. On average, I came up with one new ad each week to promote Target Direct’s services, but this depended on the number of client ads running in the wrap each week. In my time with Upper Valley Press, I created over 40 of these Target Wrap ads promoting Target’s services, each with a unique image and message to try and reach potential customers. It was sometimes a challenge to come up with a message every week, but as these ads provided the opportunity for more creative freedom compared to client work, it was a welcome challenge with a great deal of possibility.
